Terms of use

For using this site and its free checks. In short: the service is free, it is not legal advice, and anyone who needs legal advice is introduced to a lawyer on request. The German version is authoritative.

Scope

These terms cover the use of this website and every check offered on it. The provider is Gerald Strobl (see the imprint).

Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

A free service, with no guarantee of availability

Every check is free and needs no account. Nothing is sold through this site and no payments are taken.

There is no entitlement to availability, to any particular feature, or to the service continuing to exist. It may be changed, limited or discontinued at any time.

Not legal advice

The checks are an automated information service. They are not legal advice, not a legal assessment of your case, and not a reserved legal service.

Using them creates no client relationship. Results, ratings and recommendations are non-binding indications and do not replace review by someone qualified to give it.

A result is not a confirmation, a certificate or evidence of conformity with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 or with data protection law, towards authorities or anyone else.

What a check can and cannot see

Only what is observable from outside is checked: the publicly reachable page, the resources it loads, and whatever you submit. Internal processes, contracts, processing agreements and server-side handling are not visible.

The underlying rule catalogue is curated and not exhaustive. Anything that cannot be determined is reported as unknown, and unknown does not mean compliant.

Every result is a snapshot of the moment it ran. Later changes to your site or to the law are not reflected in it.

Introductions to lawyers

On request, and only with your explicit consent, your details are passed to a lawyer drawn from a pool of EU-based firms specialising in IT, AI and data protection law. That is an introduction and nothing more.

Any engagement arises solely between you and that firm. The quote, the fee, the scope and the work are agreed there; the provider of this site is not a party to it and does not offer the legal service itself.

No fee or commission is received for making an introduction. You are under no obligation to accept a quote, and your free choice of counsel is unaffected.

No liability is accepted for the legal advice, its content or its outcome.

Permitted use

A check actually loads the address you give it. Only check sites you are responsible for or otherwise entitled to check.

Automated bulk use, circumventing usage limits, interfering with the availability of the service, and any use that infringes the rights of others are prohibited.

Content and rights

The result of your check is yours to use freely. The design, the copy and the rule catalogue of this site are protected by copyright.

Legal texts come from the Official Journal of the European Union and are reused under the Commission's reuse policy. The official version always prevails.

Liability

Liability for slight negligence is excluded except for personal injury. Liability for intent and gross negligence, and mandatory claims under the Austrian Product Liability Act, are unaffected.

No liability is accepted for decisions you take on the basis of a result. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected in every case.

Data protection

How personal data is processed is set out in the privacy notice.

Changes

These terms may be adjusted, for instance when the service or the law changes. The version published at the time of use applies.

Governing law and jurisdiction

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

For businesses, the competent court in Vienna is agreed. For consumers the statutory venues apply, and mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence are unaffected.

This is a free information service, not legal advice. A result does not replace a legal assessment of your specific case.
